Peace of mind for families.

Our story began with two mothers meeting on a high school bleacher and sharing their dreams for their sons. [The Frisinger Family Story] [The Marriott Family Story] Just like every other parent we wanted to see our children develop independence and build a bright future for themselves.

So we founded Journey21, Inc. in 2021 with a mission to provide safe, supportive, and enriching living and learning options for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) in Waukesha County and surrounding communities.

Our vision is a day when every adult with IDD has accessible, meaningful opportunities for education, employment skill development, social activities, and can live independently in the home of their choice.

Our plans are big, but so is the need. There were more than 39,000 adults with IDD in Wisconsin. A significant percentage of them are being supported by and living with caregivers over the age of 60 who may need their own care soon. At some point, every family asks themselves the same question:

Journey21 has an answer.
